A Wedgwood blue jasper portrait medallion of Lord Hood
A Wedgwood blue jasper portrait medallion of Lord Hood, c.1800, moulded in relief, impressed marks to reverse, in an ebonised oval frame, 13 x 10cm; together with a Wedgwood blue jasper portrait relief of John Wesley, early 19th century, moulded in relief with impressed mark to reverse, in a later ebonised oval frame, 11 x 7.6cm (2)
Note: Admiral Samuel Hood, 1st Viscount Hood (1724-1816) was a Royal Navy Officer leading fleets in the American War of Independence and the French Revolutionary Wars.
Lord Hood: surface dirt overall. The lot would benefit from a gentle clean. Three hardly visible hairline fractures, including one across his cheek beneath his eye. No cover to the reverse.
John Wesley: Surface dirt. A crude, later card mount has been inserted into the frame which is glued in place. The frame is later.
